I don’t really follow Lady Gaga with much attention. I’ve seen interviews with her where I was impressed by how well spoken, normal and down-to-earth she sounded despite her wholly manufactured persona. I’ve also read countless interviews where I’ve rolled my eyes at all the ridiculous statements she was making to get headlines, which of course she did. There’s a sharp sweetness about her, like she’s genuine in her affection for her “little monsters” but if you get in the way while she’s collecting more she’ll cut you.

There are several biographies of Gaga out, according to my quick research at Amazon and Star has advance details from a new one that’s out later this month called Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga. The most interesting part to me was a former female assistant’s claim that Gaga hates to sleep alone and would beg her to cuddle up in bed with her every night. The assistant would even end up showering with her the next day. She doesn’t seem to suggest there was anything sexual going on, although with Gaga it’s entirely likely. The assistant and her husband, who worked as Gaga’s manger, went on the record with their full names. They say that Gaga is a perfectionist and a taskmaster who regularly fires people over minor issues:

Kate Hudson’s ex-husband and Black Crows lead singer Chris Robinson has some thoughts about Taylor Swift in a new interview with Nylon Guys. He thinks she sucks, basically. Chris is kind of coming across like a grumpy old dude who doesn’t care for these young whippersnappers on the MTV box, but I will allow that he has some semblance of a point. Chris is basically saying that Taylor Swift is an artist for kids - and after all, he’s kind of right. She sings about middle school and ponies, right? But even though I’ll give Chris his point, I still wish people would stop climbing all over Taylor. For no reason, really - she’s not hurting anybody.

Grumpy rocker Chris Robinson has become the latest star to attack country sweetheart Taylor Swift - almost a year after Kanye West ruined her big night at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards by protesting her first-ever win at the event.

Unprovoked, the Black Crowes frontman has taken issue with Swift over claims she’s one of the most talented singers in the industry today. He’s not a fan.

Robinson tells Nylon Guys magazine, “I find it embarrassing that adults are like, ‘Taylor Swift is very talented.’ She’s not. She might be cute, but she’s horrible.”

Ah, we knew this was happening, but it’s still interesting to see Lindsay Lohan on the October cover of Vanity Fair. VF just released some excerpts from their cover interview, and boy are they hilarious. Wait, did I say “hilarious”? I meant “creepy” and “Lindsay is a lying sociopath who will never take responsibility for anything.” Guess what, everybody? Lindsay has daddy issues! SHOCKING. She’s 24 years old and she still blames all of her problems on daddy, which, sure, whatever. Her dad sucks. But so do a lot of other dads. Oh, but wait - did I insinuate that Lidnsay has “problems”? I meant that Lindsay, in her own words, “never abused prescription drugs. I never have—never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am.” Sigh… it’s going to be a really long, cracked-out day, isn’t it?

“If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine,” Lindsay Lohan tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Nancy Jo Sales.

“I think everyone has their own addictions and hopefully learns how to get past them,” she says, in an interview conducted one week before her jail time began. “I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life.”

Tomorrow is Sandra Bullock’s big interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show. She and Lauer already filmed it, though, and Today has started the steady release of quotes from Sandy’s first television interview since Jesse James’ bimbo eruption. So far, we haven’t gotten any quotes about Jesse, or about the divorce, and my guess is that Sandra said a few things about him and then Lauer let her move on, not pushing it. Mostly, it seems Sandra talks about her son Louis and how he’s changed her life. My favorite quote is when she’s talking about all of the “girls” in her family, and how she wasn’t expecting to adopt a son: “And I didn’t think it would be a boy. We don’t have any boys in our family. Boy, is everyone really happy about that. So, he’s like the crown prince. You know, it’s nothing but girls in our family … It was just the hierarchy that needed to be broken.”

In her first television interview since splitting with Jesse James, Sandra Bullock says “everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out.”

Case in point: Her seven-month-old son Louis, whom she adopted from New Orleans.

“He’s a little Cajun cookie,” she tells the Today show’s Matt Lauer in the interview, airing Tuesday.

Bullock, 46 — who attended the ribbon cutting Sunday of a new $700,000 New Orleans health clinic she helped fund to mark the fifth year of Hurricane Katrina — says she loves being tied to the Big Easy.

“How lucky am I?” she asks Lauer.

This story has the stench of bullcrap, but let’s play along. British sites began pushing these alleged quotes from Angelina Jolie a few days ago, and they’re making my eye twitch. Angelina “recently told reporters” that she used to be a vegan…? When, exactly? Way back in the 1990s when she was still doing drugs? That’s not really being a vegan, Angelina, that’s having an drug-related eating disorder. Of course she wasn’t eating meat or dairy - she wasn’t eating ANYTHING. Anyway, the quotes are all about how she used to be vegan and now she loves some meat:

Angelina Jolie, who recently came under fire for looking scary-skinny at the Berlin premiere of Salt, says her diet and beauty secret is red meat.

“I joke that a big, juicy steak is my beauty secret,” Jolie, 35, recently told reporters. “But seriously, I love red meat. I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found I was not getting enough nutrition.”

Meanwhile, partner Brad Pitt is allegedly unhappy with Angelina’s meat addiction, and prefers their children eat a vegetarian diet.

“Brad hates seeing the children eating meat and he’s annoyed with how much red meat Angelina has,” a source told a British tabloid in 2009.

Ironically, Angelina followed a high-carb, low-protein diet and ate 5-6 small meals every day while training for Salt, for which she did many of her own stunts.

A sequel is reportedly in the works, for which Jolie is again expected to train three hours a day learning the martial arts Muay Thai and Krav Maga.

“I love doing action,” Jolie gushes. “I love to punch things, jump off things and shoot, so I’m lucky I got the job.”

I really wish Lady Gaga would stop talking about drugs. I just get the feeling that she’s trying to sound a lot more hardcore than she really is. Like she’s trying to sound like she was some horrible cokehead, when really she was just a party girl with too much time. But at some point during her metamorphosis into “Lady Gaga” she began selling this story of a cokehead’s downward spiral and the subsequent redemption, all for her family and her music and her monsters. It’s a chrysalis story that Gaga has sold in interview after interview, probably because she doesn’t have a lot of new crap to say. She talked about it Vanity Fair. She talked about in Rolling Stone. And now she’s talking about drugs AGAIN in another new interview with Q Magazine (via Contact Music). We get it, Gaga. You used to do drugs. Now finish your new f-cking album.

Lady Gaga says her experiences with drugs helped inspire her music. The ‘Poker Face’ singer began using illegal substances after she dropped out of a music course at New York University in 2005, and she insists getting high helped her creativity.

The 24-year-old pop star said: “[Using drugs] I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired. Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I’m one of them. What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn’t just doing drugs.”
